Meet your Coach
In the 30+ years I have been studying and teaching about families I have spent tens of thousands of hours in teaching, mentoring, and counseling with tens of thousands of individuals, couples, and families on marriage and family life. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of educational, enrichment, and clinical settings. My work has been done in community and religious contexts, allowing me to learn how to help people. Thus I understand how to help people using both scholarly and sacred ideas.
In addition to this face-to-face work, I have edited three scholarly books on marriage and family life and one on fathering, published over 100 scholarly and popular articles and chapters on couple and family issues, helped write an award-winning web page on fathering (fatherwork.byu.edu) and been interviewed by dozens of reporters for TV, radio, and print news stories on my research and for my take on marriage and families issues of the day. (For a brief overview of my professional background see this note.
Thus I bring extensive training and experience to each family life coaching relationship I enter into (for more about my personal background see this note). But all that is only background and what really matters is the commitment and passion I bring to each coaching relationship and each session we have together. I am committed to doing all I can to help each of my clients achieve greatness in their marriage and family relationships.
